معرفی
Jing Hu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Construction Engineering at the University of Central Florida, College of Engineering. She leads the Nature-Based Solutions Lab and focuses on biogeochemical processes in managed ecosystems.
Her research interests include:
- Biogeochemistry in soil-water systems
- Greenhouse gas emission mitigation
- Nature-based solutions for water quality
- Carbon sequestration and storage
- Treatment wetlands and ecological engineering
- Nutrient and contaminant dynamics in soil-plant-water systems
Her recent publications span environmental science, soil science, and climate change, with a strong focus on greenhouse gas dynamics, nutrient cycling, and ecological engineering. Trends in her work emphasize long-term monitoring, experimental manipulation of hydrological conditions, and global implications of land management on carbon and nitrogen fluxes.
Notable scientific awards include:
- Excellent Young Scientist Award, Association of Chinese Soil and Plant Scientists in North America (2022)
- Featured Cover Article in Nature Climate Change (2021)
- Wiley Top Cited Article in Soil Use and Management (2020–2021)
- Multiple awards during graduate studies at the University of Florida
Jing Hu has advised and collaborated with numerous researchers and students, though specific advisee names are not listed. Her editorial roles include serving as an associate editor for Agronomy Journal: Soil and Water Management and as a founding member of the young editorial board for Soil and Environmental Health Journal. She has received recognition for both her research and academic excellence throughout her career, from her early years in China to her doctoral work in the U.S.
She is actively involved in research labs and teams focused on nature-based solutions, particularly the Nature-Based Solutions Lab at UCF, where interdisciplinary work on sustainable environmental engineering is conducted.
