Jinat Hossain

Dr. Jinat Hossain is a Postdoctoral Researcher and Lecturer in Critical Sustainability Studies at the University of Bern's Institute of Geography, funded by the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship. She concurrently holds an Assistant Professor position at Noakhali Science and Technology University, Bangladesh (on study leave). Her interdisciplinary research examines gender dimensions of climate change adaptation in South Asia.

Research focuses on feminist political ecology, climate change adaptation in the Global South, feminist political economy of work, land and labor rights, migration justice, and gendered policy. Her PhD investigated gender and social innovation in sustainable adaptation within Bangladesh's coastal communities.

Dr. Hossain coordinates the South Asian Sub-group of EnJust Network and participates in Climate Resilience Salons. Beyond academia, she engages in science outreach, fiction writing, and visual content creation.
