Jin Y. Park is the William Fraser McDowell Chair Professor of Philosophy and Religion and Chair of the Department of Philosophy and Religion at American University. She previously served as Founding Director of the Asian Studies Program (2013–2020). Her expertise spans East Asian Buddhism, Buddhist ethics, intercultural philosophy, and modern East Asian philosophy, with a focus on gender, violence, and marginality. Park has held leadership roles as President of the American Academy of Religion, North American Korean Philosophy Association, and Society for Asian and Comparative Philosophy.
