Jin Koda is a Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Stony Brook University. His research focuses on galaxy formation and evolution, particularly the interstellar medium (ISM) and star formation processes within galactic disks. He employs observational and theoretical methods to study cosmic structures within the framework of well-measured cosmological parameters. He has been recognized with prestigious teaching awards from students, including the Godfrey Excellence in Teaching Award and the John S. Toll Endowed Award for Teaching Excellence.
His work leverages data from advanced telescopes and numerical simulations to advance understanding of galactic dynamics and star/gas interactions. Koda is positioned at the forefront of an era marked by rapid advancements in cosmological research, driven by new observational technologies and computational models.
