Jin Chen is a Professor of Medicine and Cell and Developmental Biology at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. As a member of the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, her research focuses on Eph receptor tyrosine kinases in tumor biology, particularly EphA2 and its roles in tumor metabolism, metastasis, and immune interactions.
- Current Research: Investigating EphA2's dual roles in tumor cells and blood vessels, exploring mTOR signaling in tumor subtypes with PTEN deletion or Rictor amplification, and developing mTORC2-specific inhibitors.
- Methodology: Combining human cancer datasets with CRISPR/Cas9 animal models and biochemical cell biology techniques.
Her laboratory's work, funded by National Cancer Institute and Department of Veterans Affairs grants, addresses critical questions in tumor-immune crosstalk and metabolic reprogramming. Dr. Chen serves on NIH/ACS/VA grant review panels and the CABTRAC Board of Directors. Recent publications highlight her contributions to STING-activating immunotherapies, USP11-mediated metastasis, and endothelial metabolic regulation in cancer progression.
