Jimmy Dillies is a lecturer in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Georgia, specializing in mathematical physics and algebraic geometry. His teaching portfolio spans foundational courses like Calculus and Precalculus to advanced topics in Algebraic Geometry and Differential Manifolds.
- Education: PhD from the University of Pennsylvania (2006), Licence from Université de Louvain (2000).
His research focuses on automorphisms of K3 surfaces, quartic functions, and connections between mathematics and physics. He has contributed to public engagement through the documentary "Paroles de déchiffreurs" and educational outreach programs like UGA High School Math Tournament.
Current projects include exploring geometric aspects of valuation theory and interdisciplinary work in photonics. He has advised multiple Master's students, including Joshua Ferrerra and Amelia Ernst, and received support from the Simons Foundation.
