Jimmy Chen is a Lecturer at Stanford University's Department of Materials Science and Engineering, actively involved in energy research and education through Stanford Energy. He leads the Hydrogen Initiative and StorageX initiative, while also directing Stanford Energy Corporate Affiliates (SECA) and co-founding Bits & Watts. Dr. Chen specializes in building global industrial-academic-government collaborations in energy research, particularly focusing on hydrogen, energy storage, circular economy, transportation decarbonization, and integrated energy systems.

With 25 years of industry experience at organizations like Lawrence Berkeley Labs, IBM, and Eaton, Dr. Chen brings practical expertise to Stanford's innovation ecosystem.
