Jim Cowie is a Research Fellow at Harvard University, affiliated with both the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society and the Harvard Law School's Library Innovation Lab. He is also the founder of the Internet History Initiative, preserving historical datasets documenting the Internet's regional evolution.

Research Interests focus on Internet measurement and data storytelling, spanning commercial applications (Renesys, DeepMacro) and policy-oriented work with the Internet Society and RIPE NCC.
