Jill Welkley is an Associate Professor at Emory University's Center for the Study of Human Health, with adjunct faculty appointment in the Department of Psychology. She holds a PhD from the University of Georgia (1993), MS from the University of Delaware (1989), and BS from Ithaca College (1987).
Her research focuses on exercise science, physical activity, nutrition, health behavior, and implementation science—the study of methods to promote systematic uptake of evidence-based practices to improve health outcomes. She teaches courses including 'Future of Health' (senior capstone), 'Textbook to Table' (culinary-health collaboration), and first-year seminars on physical activity and health.
Welkley leads interdisciplinary projects including the Emory Culinary Collaboration for Community Health, which involves faculty and students from Emory School of Medicine, Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing, and Department of Physical Therapy.
