معرفی
Jill Lynn Silverman is a Professor at the UC Davis MIND Institute and Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, University of California, Davis. Her research focuses on translational neuroscience for neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs), particularly Angelman syndrome, autism spectrum disorders, and pediatric epilepsy. She leads a lab using rodent models to develop biomarkers, therapeutic strategies, and diagnostic tools.
Education:
- B.A., Biology and Psychology, Rutgers University, 1999
- Ph.D., Neuroscience, University of Maryland School of Medicine, 2006
- Postdoctoral Training in Behavioral Pharmacology at NIH/NIMH, 2010
Research Interests: Dr. Silverman’s work integrates genetic, behavioral, and neurophysiological approaches to study NDDs. Her current projects include:
- Phenotypic characterization of novel genetic models
- Development of biomarkers via neuroimaging and EEG
- Testing gene therapy and precision medicine approaches
Grants & Collaborations:
- Co-PI: FAST Research Infrastructure Grant ($2.98M, 2020–2025)
- NIH/NINDS R01 Grant ($1.71M, 2017–2022)
- Co-Director of Rodent Behavioral Core at UC Davis IDDRC
Her lab’s recent work emphasizes translational outcomes, including AAV9-Cas13 gene therapy for Angelman syndrome and SYNGAP1-related disorders. Collaborative projects with neuroimaging and neurophysiology teams advance cross-disciplinary approaches.
