Jill Katz is a Clinical Professor of Archaeology at Yeshiva University, teaching courses such as BIBL 4911 Biblical Archaeology, JHIS 1150 History of Jerusalem, and SOCI 2625 Archaeology of Israel. She specializes in the relationship between Canaanites, Philistines, and Israelites in the Land of Israel during the Bronze and Iron Ages. Her fieldwork includes excavations at Ashkelon, Tel Haror/Gerar, Tell es-Safi/Gath, and Jerusalem's Ophel, where she has mentored numerous Yeshiva University students. Her academic background includes an AB from Harvard University and a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania.
