Jill Howieson

Professor Jill Howieson directs the UWA Mediation Clinic and coordinates accredited programs in Ethical Dispute Resolution and Mediation Practice at UWA Law School. As founding director of the Registered Mediator Accreditation Body and former Mediator Standards Board member, she bridges research and practice in conflict resolution.

Her empirically-grounded research examines mentalizing in mediation, therapeutic jurisprudence, power dynamics in negotiation, and coercive control frameworks. Secured $1.5M+ industry funding for executive education programs serving police, tribunals, and health departments. Current projects investigate mentalization skills implementation with Anglicare WA.
