Professor Jill Flynn is an English Education Coordinator at the University of Delaware's College of Arts & Sciences, Department of English. Prior to academia, she taught middle/high school English for nine years. Her research focuses on critical multicultural education, racial literacy, and equity in pedagogy. She co-edited Feminism and Intersectionality in Academia (2018) and developed the Quad Text Sets resource toolkit for social justice education. Awards include UD's Excellence in Teaching Award (2020), CAS Advocacy Award (2020), and Advising Award (2017).
Her work emphasizes fostering productive discussions about race and equity through frameworks like racial literacy and multimodal text sets. Collaborations include projects with Bill Lewis and XEE alumni. Publications span topics from mindfulness in social justice to anti-racist pedagogy, reflecting a commitment to transforming educational practices.
