Jill Delston is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of Missouri - St. Louis, affiliated with the College of Arts and Sciences. She holds a PhD in Philosophy from Washington University in St. Louis (2011) and a BA in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College (2004). Prior to her current role, she was a Visiting Assistant Professor at Mount Holyoke College (2011–2012).
Her research focuses on ethics (normative/applied), social/political philosophy, ancient Greek philosophy, feminism, and bioethics. Notable works include Medical Sexism: Contraception Access, Reproductive Medicine, and Health Care (2019) and co-editing Applied Ethics: A Multicultural Approach. She actively contributes to the University of Missouri System’s NextGen Precision Health Initiative.
Delston has earned prestigious awards including the Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award (2018), College of Arts and Sciences NTT Faculty Member of the Year (2019), and UMSL Legendary Triton Award (2015–2016). Her teaching and research emphasize interdisciplinary approaches, integrating philosophy with activism and healthcare ethics.
Her advising and grants focus on ethics education and health equity projects. She collaborates with interdisciplinary teams on precision health ethics and feminist critiques of medical practices.
