Jill C. Hoxmeier, PhD, MPH is an Instructor in the Public Health Practice department at Oregon State University's School of Nutrition and Public Health. Her research focuses on college students' experiences as bystanders to sexual violence, exploring psychosocial influences on intervention behavior and alignment with primary prevention strategies. She also teaches courses related to health promotion program planning, health policy, and women's health issues.
Dr. Hoxmeier holds a PhD in Public Health from Oregon State University (2015), an MPH from New Mexico State University (2012) with a focus on community health education and U.S.-Mexico border health, and a BS in Journalism from the University of Oregon (2004). Her work emphasizes developing nuanced approaches to measuring bystander intervention efficacy through studies that uncover opportunities and challenges in sexual violence prevention initiatives.
