Jihong Chen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at McMaster University, affiliated with the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Farncombe Family Digestive Health Research Institute. His work bridges clinical practice and translational research in neurogastroenterology.
- Areas of Interest: Neurogenic and myogenic control of GI motility, non-invasive diagnostics for dysmotility, autonomic nervous system interactions.
- Clinical Focus: Chronic constipation, fecal incontinence, intestinal pseudo-obstruction, and autonomic dysfunction.
- Research: Developing high-resolution manometry protocols, abdominal ultrasound for GI assessment, and non-invasive neuromodulation therapies (LLLT, TENS).
