Jie Zhou is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (IFM) of Linköping University, Sweden. His research focuses on two-dimensional (2D) materials, particularly MXenes and their parent MAX phases, with applications in energy storage, catalysis, and nanomedicine. He leads projects funded by the Wallenberg Initiative for Materials Science for Sustainability (WISE), exploring sustainable materials design for batteries and environmental applications.
Research interests include atomic-scale design of layered materials, computational modeling of exfoliation processes, and synthesis of novel 2D materials through chemical methods. His work integrates theoretical predictions with experimental validation to advance material discovery.
Recent publications highlight breakthroughs in pseudocapacitive cathodes for aluminum-ion batteries, MXene surface functionalization using antioxidants, and high-entropy MXene derivatives for energy storage. Collaborations involve interdisciplinary teams addressing challenges in materials synthesis and characterization.
