Dr. Jie Zeng is a Lecturer at the Essex Law School within the University of Essex. Her research focuses on corporate governance and corporate social responsibility (CSR), particularly in the context of China, examining how political and regulatory frameworks shape business practices.
Research Trends: Her publications highlight the intersection of law, business, and policy in China, emphasizing shareholder primacy under political influence and CSR as a mechanism for state-driven regulatory goals.
Teaching Responsibilities: She teaches foundational and advanced courses including Essex Law Key Skills (LW100), Contract Law (LW101), Company Law (LW225), and supervises Final Year Research Projects (LW304).
Grants and Funding: Currently leading a 2025 project on CSR in Chinese small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
