Jiapei Du

Dr. Jiapei Du is a Lecturer in the Department of Civil & Infrastructure Engineering at RMIT University's School of Engineering. His research focuses on geotechnical engineering, with expertise in clay mineral behavior, CO2 sequestration, expansive soils, and oil well cement technology. He actively supervises research projects on topics like carbon sequestration in binders, shale gas extraction via CO2, and water-repellent soil mechanics.

Dr. Du's work integrates molecular dynamics simulations and experimental studies to address challenges in geomechanics and environmental engineering. He has published extensively in journals like Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering and Coordination Chemistry Reviews. His research often explores nanoscale phenomena in materials and their applications in infrastructure and energy sectors.

He is open to supervising Master’s and PhD students in areas aligned with his research interests. Collaborations focus on advancing sustainable construction materials and subsurface engineering solutions.
