Jianmin Chen

Dr Jianmin Chen is a Lecturer in Inflammation and Cardiovascular Medicine at Queen Mary University of London, affiliated with the William Harvey Research Institute. She holds a Versus Arthritis Career Development Fellowship and focuses on cardiac comorbidities in inflammatory arthritis. Her research explores mechanisms of diastolic dysfunction and novel therapies. Education: PhD in Cardiovascular Pharmacology (Queen Mary, 2016), Doctorate in Clinical Medicine (Sichuan University, China, 2012).

Research Interests: Her work bridges rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and heart failure, particularly HFpEF. Using the K/BxN mouse model, she investigates immune and metabolic drivers of cardiac dysfunction. Projects include testing anti-inflammatory and pro-resolving therapies, and translating findings using patient samples. She also studies sepsis-induced cardiac injury and diabetes-related cardiac complications.
