Dr. Jianhua Wu is an Associate Professor in Medical Statistics/Biostats at the University of Leeds, affiliated with the School of Dentistry under the Faculty of Medicine and Health. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Biostatistics from Hong Kong Baptist University (2004) and a PhD in Computational Biology from the University of Warwick (2008). Before joining Leeds in 2015, he worked as a Lead Statistician at the MRC Human Nutrition Research, University of Cambridge.
- Research Focus: Biostatistics, epidemiology, machine learning, and data mining applied to cardiovascular disease, oral health, and systemic conditions. Key interests include linking oral health with obesity and chronic diseases, GWAS studies, clinical trial design, and electronic health record analysis.
- Roles: Statistical Lead for DentCRU, Theme Lead at N8CIR, Deputy DREC Chair.
Professional Activities: Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society and member of the Multiple Sclerosis Society Grant Review Panel.
Research Groups: Epidemiology and Biostatistics; Translational and Clinical Research.
