Jian Xu

Professor Jian Xu is affiliated with the Nanjing Institute of Environmental Sciences, China, and currently collaborates with Dr Benyi Cao at the University of Surrey's School of Sustainability, Civil and Environmental Engineering through a research fellowship focused on pesticide pollution remediation.

His research centers on innovative solutions for soil and groundwater contamination from pesticide production, specifically pioneering the integration of in-situ chemical oxidation technology (ISCO) with groundwater circulation well systems to accelerate pollutant degradation. This work aims to develop hydrogeochemical 3D numerical models and field-validate the approach at a Jiangsu Province pesticide facility, targeting more sustainable pollution control by reducing ISCO overuse and improving remediation efficiency.
