Dr. Jian Wang is a Lecturer at the University of Hull's Hull University Business School, part of the Faculty of Business, Law and Politics. He joined in 2012 after a prior academic position at the University of Bradford. His research focuses on commodity futures markets, hedging strategies, technical analysis, and financial econometrics.
Education includes a PhD in Finance from the University of Essex (funded by the Economic and Social Research Council), a first-class BA (Honours) in Accounting and Finance, and an MRes (Distinction) in Accounting, Finance and Management, all from Essex University's Business School.
His work examines nonlinear market dynamics, long memory effects in financial returns, and post-shock price behavior in commodities. He supervises PhD topics related to commodity futures markets and hedging techniques.
