Jian-Sheng Sun is a Professor at the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle (MNHN) and heads the Living Adaptations Scientific Department since 2017. He co-leads the "Global Approach to Health" thematic program under the SOUND project with Alexandre Escargueil. His career combines academic research in nucleic acid structures/functions with industry experience, including co-founding DNA Therapeutics (2006) to develop anti-cancer therapies. He actively participates in interdisciplinary initiatives such as the OneHealth Major Interest Area (MIA), the antibiotic resistance research program, and the PREZODE project addressing zoonotic disease emergence.
Research interests focus on integrative health concepts, including the interdependence of human, animal, and environmental health (One Health), exposome analysis, and planetary resource management. He emphasizes translating scientific knowledge into societal solutions for sustainable health challenges.
As a board member of OneHealth MIA and supervisor for key research programs, he bridges academia, policy, and industry. His work aims to enhance cross-disciplinary collaboration to address global health threats like antibiotic resistance and zoonoses through ecosystem resilience strategies.
