Prof. Dr. Jian Peng is a Full Professor of Hydrology and Remote Sensing at Leipzig University and Head of the Department of Remote Sensing at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ). His research focuses on remote sensing applications in hydrology, climate extremes, and environmental monitoring. He leads interdisciplinary teams addressing drought dynamics, soil moisture retrieval, and land-atmosphere interactions.
