Jian (Jason) Liu, PhD, is a Professor of Health Sciences at Brock University, affiliated with the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences. His academic background includes medicine, biostatistics, and epidemiology. He teaches six courses in biostatistics at both undergraduate and graduate levels, emphasizing real-world applications of statistical thinking.
His research focuses on chronic disease epidemiology, particularly cardiovascular risk factors, maternal and child health, and metabolic syndrome. Notable interests include early life experiences, insulin resistance, and lifestyle interventions for chronic disease prevention.
Publications span maternal-fetal health, aging populations, and metabolic syndrome. Recent work examines associations between body proportions, mental health medications, and cardiovascular outcomes in elderly populations.
