Dr. Jialiang Yao served as a Research Fellow at the University of Salford's THINKlab from 2004 to 2013. His research focused on VR, 3D visualization, and HCI technologies to support collaborative urban planning. He contributed to EU-funded projects including VivaCity and CoSpaces, and the EPSRC-funded FIRM project.
Yao's research interests center on developing immersive virtual environments for urban planning, natural user interfaces, and collaborative workspaces. His publications address information frameworks for sustainable cities and multi-touch interaction systems.
He earned his PhD during his tenure at THINKlab, investigating VR-centered workspaces for collaborative urban planning.
