Jiabin Yu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Florida, affiliated with the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University (2020). His research focuses on topological quantum materials, strongly correlated systems, and moiré superlattices, with particular emphasis on quantum field theory, superconductivity, and machine learning applications in quantum algorithms.
Research interests include theoretical and computational studies of topological phases, quantum geometry, and electronic structure in 2D materials. His work explores phenomena such as Berry phase quantization, fractional Chern insulators, and strain engineering in twisted bilayer systems. He also investigates the interplay between topology and superconductivity, leveraging density functional theory and quantum algorithms for material design.
Recent publications highlight advancements in moiré physics, Wilson loop bounds in quantum geometry, and universal model-building methods for twisted 2D materials. His research bridges computational modeling with experimental predictions, targeting novel topological states and quantum technologies. Yu's group, the Condensed Matter Theory Research Group, actively explores frontiers in quantum materials and their emergent phenomena.
