معرفی
Jia (Ed) Yang is a postdoctoral researcher in the Sustainable Energy Engineering group at the University of Oxford's Department of Engineering Science. He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering and an MSc in Automotive Engineering, with doctoral research focused on batteries and fuel cells for sustainable automotive applications. His current work investigates lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery characterisation, screening, and calendar ageing, particularly for energy storage deployment in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Education includes a BEng, DPhil (PhD), and MSc. Research interests span Lithium-ion batteries, fuel cells, sustainable transportation, battery/fuel cell characterisation, and imaging techniques. He contributes to the Sustainable Energy Engineering group and collaborates with Professors Paul Shearing and David Howey.
His research emphasizes climate-resilient energy systems, wildfire mitigation through microgrids, and multi-factor deep learning models for energy forecasting. Work addresses both technical challenges (e.g., grid stability, battery ageing) and socio-environmental goals (e.g., energy access in Africa, wildfire risk reduction).
