Jia Wang is a Professor of Finance at the William G. Rohrer College of Business, Rowan University. She holds a B.S. in Accounting from Tsinghua University, China, followed by an M.S. in Statistics and a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Her research focuses on empirical asset pricing, market efficiency, trading strategies, and financial methodologies. She teaches investments and derivatives, and has won multiple awards including the Alumni Advisory Council Award for Scholarly Achievement and MBA Professor of the Year. Dr. Wang coordinates the MS in Finance program and serves on the editorial board for the Journal of Accounting and Finance Research.
Her research spans risk arbitrage in M&A activities, machine learning applications in financial prediction, and analysis of market crashes like the 2008 crisis. Recent work explores supply chain network equilibrium and strategic financial hedging using futures. Her publications appear in journals such as the Journal of Banking and Finance, European Journal of Operational Research, and International Journal of Production Economics.
