Ji Liu, MD, MS is an Associate Professor on Term in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science at Yale School of Medicine. He joined Yale Eye Center as Assistant Professor in July 2013 and was later promoted to Associate Professor. Dr. Liu serves as Director for Resident Research in Ophthalmology and is dedicated to patient care, medical education, and research in ophthalmology.

Dr. Liu's research focuses on intraocular pressure monitoring, medical and surgical management of glaucoma, ophthalmic laser, cataract surgery, premium intraocular lens implant, and complex anterior segment surgeries. His work demonstrates a strong commitment to advancing treatments for eye diseases while improving patient outcomes. He has introduced multiple novel glaucoma surgeries to Yale-New Haven Hospital, including I-stent, I-track, and Xen Gel Stent.
His publication record shows consistent contributions to ophthalmology literature, with recent articles spanning gene therapy, ocular development, pain management protocols, corticosteroid-induced glaucoma, and surgical trends.
