Jhalak Sethi is a Junior Research Fellow in Cancer Biology at the University of Tartu, Faculty of Medicine, Institute of Biomedicine and Translational Medicine. Her research focuses on biomedical applications, including programmable bionanomaterials and precision targeting of glioblastoma.

Her work involves preclinical development of blood-brain-barrier penetrating peptides and synthetic phosphorylation circuits for cell factories. Current projects include Programmable Bionanomaterials with Protein-Controlled Behavior (2025–2028, €257,600) and Precision Targeting of Infiltrative Glioblastoma (2023–2027, €810,000). She contributed to a 2024 publication on protease-activated peptides targeting tenascin-C.
