Dr. Jette Reeg is a Research Fellow at the University of Potsdam's Institute of Biology and Biochemistry, affiliated with the Plant Ecology and Nature Conservation group led by Prof. Dr. Florian Jeltsch. Since 2019, she has been a PostDoc in the Bridging in Biodiversity Science (BIBS) project, specifically contributing to Work Package 1 ('ScapeLabs'), focusing on ecological modeling of plant communities and ecotoxicology.
Her academic background includes:
- BSc in Biology, University of Potsdam (2006-2009)
- MSc in Ecology, Evolution and Nature Conservation, University of Potsdam (2010-2013)
- PhD in Ecology, University of Potsdam (2013-2019), funded by Bayer AG, developing novel risk characterization methods for non-target terrestrial plants.
Dr. Reeg specializes in computational ecological modeling to assess herbicide impacts on plant populations and communities, with emphasis on reproductive attributes and indirect ecosystem effects. Her work bridges theoretical modeling with practical environmental risk assessment, particularly for grassland ecosystems in agricultural landscapes, aiming to improve regulatory frameworks for agrochemical safety.
Her publication record reveals a concentrated research trajectory in herbicide ecotoxicology since 2017, consistently employing modeling approaches to quantify direct/indirect effects on non-target plant communities. The studies integrate empirical data validation with simulation techniques, addressing critical gaps in predicting community-level consequences of chemical stressors.
Currently embedded in the BIBS project's 'ScapeLabs' initiative, she investigates landscape-scale ecological processes to advance biodiversity conservation strategies. Her doctoral work established a strong industry-academia partnership with Bayer AG in ecotoxicology research. No student supervision activities are documented in current records.
