Jeta Rudi Polloshka

Jeta Rudi Polloshka is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural, Food, and Resource Economics at Michigan State University (MSU), with a fixed-term appointment focused on Food Marketing and Management. She previously served as Assistant Professor of Agribusiness at California Polytechnic State University (2017–2021). Dr. Polloshka holds a PhD in Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota.

Her research examines consumer behavior during crises, particularly food safety recalls, and explores broader themes in consumer food choices, food safety economics, and food waste reduction. She actively bridges academic research with industry practice through USDA-funded outreach programs, training growers, industry professionals, and students on food safety economics. Her teaching portfolio includes courses such as Food Product Marketing and Managerial Economics at MSU, and previously at Cal Poly, covering agribusiness data literacy, food marketing, and agricultural policy.

Key research interests include analyzing demand dynamics during crises, translating academic findings into actionable policies, and addressing challenges in the food industry. Dr. Polloshka collaborates closely with industry stakeholders to inform policy and industry practices while mentoring students through hands-on field experiences.

Her work spans interdisciplinary outreach initiatives, international development research (e.g., Kosovo labor markets), and applied analyses of trade dynamics in agricultural commodities. She maintains an active presence in both MSU’s College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and the broader academic community through conference participation and scholarly publications.
