Jessica Wehner is a Researcher and Doctoral student at the University of Osnabrück's Department of Modern History and Historical Migration Research, and a member of the Institute for Migration Research and Intercultural Studies (IMIS) since March 2022.
Her research interests include:
- Contemporary History
- Historical Migration Research
- Conflict and Violence Research in the 20th Century
- Displaced Persons
- History Didactics and History Culture
Currently, Jessica is a Doctoral student in the subproject "Norms and Marginality: Practices of Recognition as a Displaced Person" in the DACH project funded by the DFG and FWF "Norms, Flight, Agency: Negotiating a Migration Regime." She is also an active member of the Displaced Persons Research Network.
Her scientific recognition includes:
- Fellow of the Hans Mühlenhoff Foundation for the Promotion of Achieving Youth (2019-2021)
Professional Experience:
- Since February 2022: Research assistant at the Chair of Modern History and Historical Migration Research
- October 2021-March 2022: Research assistant at the Chair of History Didactics
- 2018-2021: Student assistant working on projects including "Transnational memory of Nazi forced labor and migration" and "Negotiating resettlement. Negotiations, processes and long-term development of violence-induced migration after World War II"
- 2017-2021: Student assistant at the Chair of History Didactics
- 2017-2020: Student assistant at the Chair of General Didactics
