Jessica Thomas is an Instructor in the University Writing Program at the University of Notre Dame's College of Arts and Letters. With 17 years of high school English teaching experience, she emphasizes student-centered pedagogy and whole-student development. Her roles include former English Department Chair, where she fostered collaborative department culture through book studies and mentorship programs. She additionally teaches graduate students in reading/writing pedagogy methods.
Education: B.A. in English from Purdue University; M.S. in Education from Indiana University; M.S. in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Francis.
Research interests focus on writing instruction innovation, particularly in high-risk educational environments. Active in professional development through National Writing Project affiliation and presentations on pedagogy. Former Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate instructor with expertise in inquiry-based learning strategies.
Labs/Teams: Associated with the University Writing Center, contributing to campus-wide writing support initiatives.
