David Griffith is an Assistant Professor and academic advisor at the University of Notre Dame's College of Arts and Letters. He teaches courses in Narrative Medicine, Catholic literature, and Writing and Rhetoric, while advising first-year students in the College of Arts and Letters.

His research explores intersections of violence in media, creative writing pedagogy, and Catholic Social Teaching, with a focus on poverty and creativity in American culture. He is particularly interested in the mythologies surrounding art-making and the evolving role of artists.
Griffith previously served as Vice President for Education at the Chautauqua Institution, Director of Creative Writing at Interlochen Center for the Arts, and Assistant Professor of English at Sweet Briar College.
