Dr. Jessica Moseley serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Music Theory at the School of Music, State University of New York at Fredonia, where she has taught since 2015. Her instruction spans tonal/post-tonal analysis, counterpoint, and musicianship skills.
Her educational background includes:
- Ph.D. and M.M. in Music Theory (cognate in piano pedagogy) from University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music
- B.M. in Piano Pedagogy from Drake University
Her research integrates Music Theory with practical applications, examining Alberto Ginastera's 12-tone compositions, Robert Carver's pre-tonal works, and analytical frameworks for popular music. She pioneers intersections between music theory and piano pedagogy through alternative notation systems and musical map-making methodologies.
Dr. Moseley has presented at Society for Music Theory (SMT), North American British Music Studies Association (NABMSA), and Music Theory Midwest (MTMW) conferences. She served on MTSNYS and MTMW boards and was invited to GP3—MTNA's National Group Piano Pedagogy Forum.
