Jessica Matz

Jessica Matz serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at Hannibal-LaGrange University (HLGU). Prior to this role, she accumulated 13 years of academic experience at Liberty University as an instructor of psychology, subject matter expert, and instructional mentor.

Her educational foundation includes:

• Bachelor's in Cognitive Studies and Child Development from Vanderbilt University
• Masters in Marriage and Family Counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary

Her professional expertise spans Counseling Psychology, Child Development, and Marriage and Family Therapy, complemented by two decades of church service as a pastor's wife and founder of a non-profit Biblical lifecare counseling program. This integrative approach bridges clinical psychology with faith-based counseling methodologies.

She is married to Dr. Robert Matz, president of Hannibal-LaGrange University, and homeschools their three children. The family's recreational pursuits include National Park exploration, Lego construction, and extensive reading.
