Jessica Levy

Jessica Levy is an Assistant Professor of History at Purchase College, School of Humanities. She specializes in global economic history with a focus on late 20th-century U.S. automotive manufacturing in the Global South. Her research examines industrialization patterns beyond traditional Rustbelt regions, analyzing corporate expansion in countries like Kenya, Ecuador, and the Philippines.

Her current project investigates U.S. automakers' interactions with global governments regarding tax incentives, labor regulations, and licensing agreements. This work challenges conventional narratives of deindustrialization by highlighting transnational dynamics.
