Jessica A. Leveto is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminology at Kent State University. As a sociologist and educator, her work bridges research, leadership, and systems-level innovation in higher education.

Research Interests: Dr. Leveto examines caregiving scholars' experiences and institutional adaptation. Her work focuses on structural redesign in academia to support neurodivergent learners, parenting students, and first-generation graduates. She applies design thinking and Scholarship of Teaching & Learning (SoTL) to create student-centered frameworks for retention.
Recent Publications explore institutional support for parenting students, pandemic impacts on academic mothers, and neurodiverse youth integration. Her 2024 chapter in Making Colleges Supportive Spaces for Pregnant and Parenting Students has influenced national policy discussions.
