Jessica Hugill-Jones is a Research Fellow (Trial Coordinator) at the York Trials Unit, University of York. She joined in March 2020 after completing an MSc in Psychology and working as a primary school teacher. Her work spans health and education trials, with a focus on improving child and adult wellbeing through evidence-based interventions.

Her research centers on randomized controlled trials (RCTs) evaluating interventions in educational and health contexts. Current projects include the SAVINGS trial examining smoking cessation advice in financial guidance settings. Previous projects like GYY and MC II highlight her interdisciplinary work in aging, multimorbidity, and early childhood numeracy.
The chair-based yoga trial (2024) and smoking cessation advice trial (2023) demonstrate her focus on scalable interventions for vulnerable populations. Her methodology expertise includes embedded economic evaluations (2024), process evaluations (2024), and innovative data collection strategies like pen incentives in postal questionnaires (2022).
