Jessica Holzer

Dr. Jessica Holzer is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Population Health & Leadership at the University of New Haven's School of Health Sciences. She specializes in health equity, maternal health, and community-based participatory research.

• Ph.D. in health policy and bioethics, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health
• M.A. in bioethics, Case Western Reserve University
• B.A. in biology and philosophy, Wellesley College

Her research focuses on maternal morbidities in the postpartum period, active transportation infrastructure, and health equity metrics. She co-founded Maternal Spotlight, a nonprofit supporting maternal decision-making through evidence-based resources.

Dr. Holzer has received recognition from the American Public Health Association for her maternal health research. Her recent publications address data gaps in maternal health, community engagement frameworks, and obesity-dentist correlations at county levels.
