Jessica Gwynne

Professor Jessica Gwynne is a Teaching Professor and Director of Undergraduate Teaching at the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy, University of Cambridge. She also serves as Deputy Director of Education for the School of Physical Sciences and is a Fellow at St Catharine’s College, where she acts as Director of Studies for Materials Science.

• Education: MA, MSci, PhD in Materials Science from University of Cambridge

Her research focuses on biomedical materials, including polymeric spinal disc replacements, collagen fibers for ligament/tendon regeneration, and bone regeneration scaffolds. She lectures on Non-Metallic Materials, Electronic Properties of Materials, and Biomaterials.

She received the prestigious Pilkington Prize for Teaching in 2019 for her contributions to pedagogy in Materials Science.
