Vipuil Kishore

Vipuil Kishore serves as Professor and Interim Department Head in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering within Florida Tech's College of Engineering and Science. He additionally holds Affiliate Faculty status in Biomedical Engineering. His Functional Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering Laboratory operates from the Health Sciences Research Building (Room 224) with dedicated lab space in Room 215.

Dr. Kishore's research centers on biomimetic scaffold development for tissue regeneration, with three major thrusts:

• Corneal Repair: Electrochemically compacted collagen matrices for corneal regeneration
• Interface Engineering: Collagen-bioglass gradient scaffolds for bone-tendon/ligament interfaces
• Vascular Grafts: Elastin-collagen composites for vascular tissue engineering

His methodology integrates 3D/4D bioprinting, electrochemical compaction, and photobiomodulation to recreate extracellular microenvironments.

Analysis of his 15 most recent publications (2022-2024) reveals dominant themes in biomaterial fabrication (4D printing, collagen alignment, bioceramic composites) and biological applications (osteogenesis, neural modeling, vascular regeneration). Key techniques include finite element modeling, magnetic alignment, and xeno-free culture systems with strong emphasis on mechanical property optimization.

Dr. Kishore actively mentors 4 current graduate students (2 PhD, 1 MS, 1 undergraduate) and has graduated 5 PhDs and 12 MS thesis students. His lab receives continuous NIH funding supporting translational research toward clinical applications in orthopedics and regenerative medicine. Current projects include blue light-mediated osteogenesis and biomimetic models for neurological disorders.
