Her clinical work focuses on traveler health at the Emory TravelWell Center and directing the Emory Hansen’s Disease Program, which provides care for leprosy patients and raises disease awareness.
Education:

- MPH in Global Epidemiology from Rollins School of Public Health (2016)
Dr. Fairley’s research spans epidemiology of neglected tropical diseases, particularly leprosy, and the impact of climate change on infectious diseases. Her studies investigate leprosy susceptibility, transmission, and morbidity in Brazil and Ethiopia, focusing on parasitic co-infections, micronutrient deficiencies, and environmental reservoirs. She also explores planetary health connections, such as climate-driven migration and disease burden in Latin American immigrants.
Recent publications highlight her work in machine learning for disease diagnostics, metabolomics in leprosy pathogenesis, and spatial analysis of co-endemic diseases like schistosomiasis and leprosy. Her projects integrate environmental health with infectious disease epidemiology, emphasizing prevention and health equity.
