Dr. Jessica Dijkman is an Associate Professor in the Department of History and Art History at Utrecht University. Her research focuses on Economic and Social History, particularly on food provisioning, famines, and market institutions in medieval and early modern Northwestern Europe. She investigates historical mechanisms for coping with food crises through market regulations, charity, and regional socio-political dynamics.
