Dr. Jessica Devido serves as an Assistant Professor at Duquesne University's School of Nursing, specializing in maternal/child health, health disparities, and community-engaged research. She holds a PhD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing and additional certifications in health equity and women's studies. Her research focuses on improving health outcomes for at-risk populations through culturally tailored interventions, particularly addressing maternal mortality disparities among African Americans and lactation support for marginalized mothers.
Key research projects include exploring the role of 'Wise Women' networks in health information sharing and developing vocational pipelines for African-American girls in healthcare. She has secured grant funding from AADE, Sigma Theta Tau, and the National Endowment for the Humanities. Notable awards include the Jonas Salk Medical Ethics Fellowship and multiple teaching excellence recognitions.
