Jessica Chow, MD is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology & Visual Science at Yale School of Medicine, serving as Residency Director and Vice Chair of Education for the Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Science. She is also the Director of the Cornea and External Disease service at Yale Medicine, providing specialized care at the Yale Eye Center.

Dr. Chow's research focuses on medical education innovation and ophthalmic surgical techniques. Her work explores novel educational approaches including AI chatbots, podcasts, and curriculum development for ophthalmology training. She has made significant contributions to understanding patient experience during cataract surgery and evaluating educational tools for ophthalmic learning.

As Residency Program Director since 2014, Dr. Chow has mentored numerous ophthalmology residents through their training. Her educational innovations include developing microsurgical suturing courses and evaluating new educational technologies. She has served on various departmental committees and holds leadership positions within national ophthalmology organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the Association of University Professors in Ophthalmology (AUPO), and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS).
Dr. Chow specializes in corneal transplantation procedures (including PKP, DALK, DSAEK, and DMEK) and advanced cataract surgery techniques. She treats a variety of corneal conditions including dry eye, ocular surface disease, graft vs host disease, infectious keratitis, and keratoconus. Her clinical work combines the latest technology with personalized patient care approaches.
