معرفی
Jessica Chandra is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Dementia Research Centre within the Macquarie Medical School at Macquarie University, where she has been conducting research since 2024. Her work focuses on neurodegenerative disease mechanisms and translational therapeutic development.
Education
- PhD (2024) from the University of New South Wales, completed at the Schizophrenia Research Laboratory at NeuRA under Prof Cyndi Shannon Weickert.
Research Focus
Her primary research involves developing clinically relevant animal models to map pathophysiological trajectories in neurodegenerative diseases. This work bridges preclinical neuroscience with clinical therapeutic applications, emphasizing pharmacological interventions and toxicological safety profiles. Key methodologies include in vivo modeling of degenerative processes and outcome assessment for novel treatment strategies.
Academic Contributions
She co-supervised a Neuroscience Honours student at the University of New South Wales and collaborates with Prof Lars Ittner at Macquarie University's Dementia Research Centre. Her research fingerprint spans degenerative disease pharmacology, toxicology, and pharmaceutical science, reflecting interdisciplinary approaches to dementia therapeutics.
